What is Bio Spicule Therapy?
Bio Spicule Therapy is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment that uses microscopic natural spicules (tiny needle-like structures derived from marine or plant sources) to stimulate the skin. These spicules penetrate the superficial layers of the skin and trigger a natural renewal process.
Unlike traditional microneedling, bio spicules remain in the skin temporarily, providing ongoing stimulation for several days after treatment.
What skin concerns can Bio Spicule Therapy treat?
Bio Spicule Therapy may help improve:
- Acne and acne-prone skin
- Acne scarring
- Enlarged pores
- Uneven skin texture
- Hyperpigmentation
- Dull or congested skin
- Fine lines
- Oily skin and breakouts
Our Specialist Nurse Prescriber will assess whether this treatment is suitable for your skin type and concerns.
How does Bio Spicule Therapy work?
The spicules penetrate the upper layers of the skin, creating micro-channels and stimulating cell turnover and collagen production. This process:
- Accelerates skin renewal
- Improves absorption of active ingredients
- Helps unclog pores
- Encourages smoother, clearer skin
The spicules gradually dissolve or are shed naturally as the skin renews.
What to expect during treatment
- Treatment usually takes 30–45 minutes
- The spicule solution is massaged into the skin
- You may experience a prickling, tingling, or scratching sensation
- Discomfort varies depending on skin sensitivity and spicule strength
- Skin may appear red immediately after treatment
What happens after treatment?
- Skin may feel tight, warm, or prickly for 24–72 hours
- Redness and mild swelling are common
- Mild flaking or peeling may occur
- Skin may feel rough or sensitive for several days
This reaction is normal and expected as part of the skin renewal process.
When will I see results?
- Initial improvement may be seen within 7–10 days
- Skin continues to improve over several weeks
- A course of treatments is often recommended for best results
