What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment that removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the surface of the skin using a sterile, medical-grade blade. The treatment leaves the skin feeling smoother, brighter, and more even in tone.
Dermaplaning does not change hair thickness, colour, or growth rate.
What is dermaplaning used for?
Dermaplaning helps to:
- Improve skin texture and smoothness
- Brighten dull or uneven skin
- Enhance makeup application
- Improve product absorption
- Reduce the appearance of fine lines
- Remove surface debris and peach fuzz
It is suitable for most skin types and is often combined with other aesthetic treatments.
How does dermaplaning work?
A trained practitioner gently glides a sterile blade across the skin at a precise angle to:
- Remove the outer layer of dead skin cells
- Remove fine vellus hair
The procedure typically takes 30–45 minutes.
What will it feel like?
Dermaplaning is painless. Most clients describe it as relaxing with a light scraping sensation.
What results can I expect?
- Immediately smoother and softer skin
- A brighter, more radiant complexion
- Improved makeup application
Results are visible straight away and continue to improve with regular treatments.
How often can dermaplaning be done?
- Every 4–6 weeks, in line with the skin’s natural renewal cycle
Downtime and recovery
- There is no downtime
- Mild redness may occur and usually settles within a few hours
- You can return to normal activities immediately
