What are skin boosters?

Skin boosters are injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) treatments designed to improve skin quality rather than add volume or change facial shape. Unlike dermal fillers, skin boosters are placed superficially into the skin to provide deep hydration, improved texture, and enhanced radiance.

They help the skin look healthier, smoother, and more youthful.

What are skin boosters used for?

Skin boosters are commonly used to:

  • Improve skin hydration
  • Enhance glow and radiance
  • Reduce fine lines and crepey skin
  • Improve skin texture and elasticity
  • Support collagen production
  • Improve dull, tired-looking skin

They are ideal for clients seeking natural, subtle skin rejuvenation.

What areas can be treated?

Common treatment areas include:

  • Face
  • Under-eye area (depending on product)
  • Neck
  • Décolletage
  • Hands

Our Specialist Nurse Prescriber will advise on the most suitable product and technique for each area.

How do skin boosters work?

Skin boosters contain soft, stabilised hyaluronic acid, which:

  • Attracts and retains moisture in the skin
  • Improves skin elasticity and smoothness
  • Supports collagen and elastin production

The product is injected into the skin using fine needles or a cannula.

What happens during the treatment?

  • A consultation and skin assessment are carried out
  • The area is cleansed and prepared
  • Skin booster injections are placed into the skin
  • The procedure typically takes 20–30 minutes

Topical numbing cream may be used to improve comfort.

What will it feel like?

You may feel mild stinging or pressure during injections. Most clients tolerate the treatment well.

What results can I expect?

  • Improved hydration and glow within 1–2 weeks
  • Smoother skin texture over time
  • Gradual improvement in fine lines

Results are subtle and natural and improve with a course of treatments.

How many treatments are needed?

  • Usually 2–3 treatments are recommended
  • Treatments are spaced 2–4 weeks apart
  • Maintenance treatments every 6–12 months may be advised

Results vary between individuals.

Downtime and recovery

  • Small injection bumps may appear and usually settle within 24–72 hours
  • Mild redness, swelling, or bruising may occur
  • Most clients return to normal activities immediately
